CEDT
The CEDT (Committee on Electrical Design Tools) is a CAEC working group providing technical
expertise and guidance on electrical design and electrical CAD tools used across CERN.
The mandate of CEDT is:
- To provide CAEC with information and technical recommendations concerning the use,
licensing, support and long-term evolution of electrical design software tools at CERN. - To advise CERN technical teams on the evaluation, selection and usage of electrical
design tools, methods and workflows. - To contribute to the technical assessment and benchmarking of electrical CAD solutions,
taking into account usability, interoperability, training effort and integration within the
CERN environment. - To act as a focal point for communication and knowledge sharing among users of
electrical design tools at CERN, fostering common approaches, harmonization of
practices and efficient dissemination of information. - To report to CAEC on the outcome of its discussions and seek CAEC endorsement for
major strategic orientations and decisions.
