User Group for Field Calculations (UGFC)

Introduction
The UGFC (User Group for Field Calculation) is a group of specialists which guide the support group IT-CA in its work concerning electromagnetic field calculation facilities.

The chairman of the UGFC is a member of CAEC.

The term “field calculation” describes both magnetostatic field calculations (Opera/Tosca/Elektra, Roxie, Flux2d) and RF field calculations (CST Microwave Studio, HFSS, GdfidL, Poisson/Superfish, COMSOL).

Tasks:
To provide the CAEC committee with information and help in the long-term planning of CERN’s use of electromagnetic field simulation program packages.
